The  BAWB - Business as an Agent of World Benefit - was conceived in the United States, on the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, as an initiative by a group of people intent on rethinking the role of organizations within the frame of global change and social development.

Its role is to disseminate successful cases of companies working for the benefit of society, thereby fostering an opportunity for the world business sector to act in accordance with the greatest interest of humanity and the world whereas growth and profit are also attained.
